Brides and Grooms was founded in Newark, DE in 1986. The owner Yong, studied to be a seamstress and designer in South Korea where she is from. She had always dreamed of being a business owner in the US. After immigrating to the United States in 1976 she worked as a seamstress for local bridal salons with her infant son strapped to her back while she worked. Wanting a better life and to fulfill her dream of being a business owner, she took the plunge in September of 1986 and Brides and Grooms was born!

Brides and Grooms has serviced the tri-state area ever since and has helped countless brides, mothers, bridesmaids, pageant, and prom girls for over 30 years!
